Speak your native language – Bureau of Ghana Languages

Schoolchildren in urban areas should speak their native language in order not to lose their culture and tradition, the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Ghana Languages, Mr Peter Essien, has recommended. He explained that language was part of culture so if children spoke their native language, they would get to know a lot more…

BGL

The Bureau of Ghana Languages, formerly the Vernacular Literature Bureau, was established in 1951 as an independent statutory corporation by the Gold Coast Vernacular Literature Board Ordinance 1950. The Bureau promotes the preservation of Ghanaian Languages and culture through the publication, certification, and usage of world-class systems, tech., and collaborations with local and international partners.
